Exhibition at Pomorie Lake Visitor Center

In a pleasant ceremony and in the presence of photographers and guests, on August 19 at 19:00 in the Visitor Center "Pomorie Lake Protected Area" was held the final stage of the photo contest "20 years of Pomorie Lake Protected Area". In front of the Center was a photo exhibition, including the 12 best photographs selected in the photo competition organized by the Municipality of Pomorie and NGO "Citizens for Pomorie".

The photo contest started on June 22, 2021. Eighty-four photographs by Bulgarian and foreign authors, amateurs and professionals representing the flora and fauna, as well as landscape and reportage shots that captured interesting moments from the life of Lake Pomorie were admitted. 

Jury consisting of: Chairman - Georgi Dimitrov and members - Dimitrina Andreeva, Todor Dinev and Dimitar Popov (project manager of Life for the Pomorie Lagoon Project) and representatives of the organizers - Milcho Talev and Angelina Merjdanova, selected the 12 best photos, the first three of which were awarded by the sponsors of the competition - Grand Hotel Pomorie, "St. Petar & St. Pavel" and Hotel & Spa "Saint George" on the day of the event. Each of the three winners received a free weekend for two in different hotels.

First prize deservedly went to Dimo ​​Shehlarski from Burgas for his incredible shot of Avocet.

The head of the Life for the Pomorie Lagoon project presented Pomorie Lake and its value for biodiversity conservation.

With a glass of white wine and on the sunset, the space in front of the Visitor Center was enlivened by the mood of photographers, guests, organizers and sponsors, who did not hide their satisfaction with the quality of selected photos and the beauty of the favorite Pomorie Lake. All photographers selected for the exhibition received incentive awards from the Municipality of Pomorie. The photos will be used for the 2022 calendar or for a special photo album of the maritime municipality.
